Hack and slash
Genre of movie where the plot revolves around a group of teenagers in a remote place who are systematically killed off by a monster or evil force. Jason & Friday the 13th was probably the original hack & slash movie. Key points: 1.The victims never seem to realise that leaving the area may be a healthy alternative to staying close to the monster. 2. There is usually a scene where a scantily clad girl is chased through heavily wooded area. 3. There is always one of the group and a surviving bit of the monster or egg ect left at the end of the movie for a sequel. The film Scary Movie is a parody of this genre. Hack and Slash also is the name of a computer game.
