A hip-hop artist hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Spawned from a member of the Black Panthers and an English professor. Kanye West commonly comes under scrutiny from the media and people for the large amount of stupid shit he does/says. All of this takes away from the fact that he is actually a very talented producer, writer, and rapper. Before becoming majorly mainstream, Kanye had three very impressive, landmark hip-hop albums. He single-handedly produced and wrote almost every song on his debut album "The College Dropout". His first few albums are known for their creativity, soulful production, and creative use of Motown/Soul samples. Although Kanye West may make a lot of dumb decisions in front of the public, and is sometimes considered racist and ignorant, he has still been one of the biggest impacts on the music industry in the past decade, he is a top-notch producer, a fashion designer, a music video director, and he is never afraid to speak his mind to his fans and the public (even though it commonly ends up sounding really dumb). All in all, you can't deny Kanye West does some dumb things, but people tend to only see the bad in him rather than his impressive achievements.
