Typically from the Polynesian islands like Tonga, Cook Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa an island boy is considered someone who does sexual favours handjobs and blowjobs in exchange for money, favours or protection from Polynesian/Island men. Homosexuality in these cultures is only seen as gay if you are the one performing the act. e.g. it is considered a gay act to give another guy head, but not the person themselves. in many cases these men have girl friends and wife's. it's just considered part of their responsibilities to the group or gang. while it is a sexual grey area to be considered an island boy the same isn't considered for an island man. culturally it isn't seen as gay to receive sex acts off another male. it's not considered polite to refer to a island boy as gay it isn't typically met with aggression, but calling an Polynesian/Island man as gay isn't a good idea. Most of these men are gang members/leaders and it has been know that retaliation punishment can consist of gang beatings, being forced to perform oral sex on the offended party and in some cases the offended party will have his island boys rape them

Your description is right on, except in 1989 I named my daughter Kallen Mikel (www.kallenmikel.com/original-art). I thought I made up the name, but apparently, it originated as a boy's name in Greek and Hebrew. I first found this out in 2001 when I was traveling to Finland. In the 'tube food' section in a big Finnish supermarket there it was, a royal blue tube of salmon paste with a blonde-haired boy named Kallen! So now I have discovered that there are many Kallen's of both sexes. I want to buy her a cup, but it has 'him' on it. Is there any way you can make that a unisex description for both sexes? Just askin'. Being a Barbara (Barbs) myself ... a 'cake eater' from Edina, MN I had to ask ... haha ;-)
