Black Votes Matter
Blacks and other minorities tend to vote in favor of politicians that support policies that promotes social justice, equality of opportunity, protects the safety net, affordable heath care, daycare, affordable housing, quality education, and provides job security and living wages to the middle and working classes. Blacks are typically a minority in a general election so they depend on the majority of the voting population to contribute enough votes to their candidate of choice to have a chance of winning. In many cases the opposing party will try to discourage people to collectively vote with blacks and/or to reduce the power of minority voting using strategies from voter suppression to gerrymandering, increase voting times and places. So when you vote consider how your vote will impact the blacks and other minorities and their candidate and policy choices. Sadly wasteful non-voting and extreme voting practices by the privileged, such as voting for non-viable candidates has resulted in destroying the potential of the black vote to matter.
