trap play

Trap Play ( at least from my perspective living in the Bay Area ) is somewhat a way of life or living. Let me try to explain . . . If you don't know what Trap Music is, it's basically rap/hip-hop/gangsta music you listen to while selling your dope in da trap and usually/typically has a lot of heavy-bass throughout the rap beat/instrumental. Trappers are basically hustling drug dealers and typically stay up late night or may even stay awake for multiple days in a row. If you don't know, drug dealers are really grimey and shady so you could probably imagine how they "play da game" a.k.a. "live their life". Ultimately, Trap Play is an action or way of living that a Trapper would normally carry out in their everyday lives. Ex:) killing somebody/back stabbing somebody/committing a robbery/killing a competitive Trapper who decided to sell on your block/area of town you would consider to be your hood/Etc . . . All of these actions are typically carried out by people who live da Trap Life. Thus, back stabbing your brother (and/or) committing murder would be described as trap play since they "played" (lived) "da game" (life) in a manner a "TRAPper" (dope dealer) would "PLAY da game" (live their life). Hopefully that clears the air on what exactly "TRAP PLAY" is/means. If the definition I just provided for you still seems a little fuzzy to you, maybe the next sentence will help you comprehend the meaning of "trap play".
