Durand Mug
A small town in mid Michigan, west of Flint. Also known as Doo-R and. In the 1970's and 80's it was known for its drive in porno theater called the Do-rand Dirties. They have now been turned into a golf course and driving range. Durand has a higher than normal teen pregnancy rate, drop out rate, and drug problem. A good portion of its economy comes from the residents who commute to Flint to work for the failing GM. You know you are in Durand when you see people roll up to prom on a tractor or semi-truck. Just one of many hell hole suburbs of Flint and Detroit. Also known for up and coming rappers Head, Truck, and Carbon, all catching the eye of Psychopathic Records. Your description is right on, except in 1989 I named my daughter Kallen Mikel (www.kallenmikel.com/original-art). I thought I made up the name, but apparently, it originated as a boy's name in Greek and Hebrew. I first found this out in 2001 when I was traveling to Finland. In the 'tube food' section in a big Finnish supermarket there it was, a royal blue tube of salmon paste with a blonde-haired boy named Kallen! So now I have discovered that there are many Kallen's of both sexes. I want to buy her a cup, but it has 'him' on it. Is there any way you can make that a unisex description for both sexes? Just askin'. Being a Barbara (Barbs) myself ... a 'cake eater' from Edina, MN I had to ask ... haha ;-)
