Also known as 'Show Me The Money', SMTM is South Korea's first and only rap competition broadcasted on national television. SMTM is brought to you by MNET, which is a South Korean pay television music channel owned by CJ E&M. Many consider SMTM to be why hip-hop has become as popular as it has in Korea. Hip-hop in Korea was almost unseen and unnoticed up until the first season of SMTM aired in 2012. In SMTM, rappers are judged based on their skill by four pairs of judges (Note: Judges are eight of South Korea's most prominent K-Hip-Hop rappers, singers, and or producers.) Rappers are to be eliminated each episode by failing or passing difficult challenges presented to them that help show the judges who has the talent and stamina to be the winner. The winner walks away with anywhere from 100,000 - 200,000 USD. SMTM is currently hosted by Kim Jin Pyo and has seven seasons in its collection. Winners are as listed below. Good stuff! Although, I do have a sneaking suspicion that this is cursed. You see, whenever i dawn this top-teir, soft, stylish shirt - I proceed to pass out within 46 seconds. The mere act of making contact with the material insues the process of this countdown starting. If I do not quit contact, i will lose conciousness the exact moment the countown hits 0. And when I regain clarity, I find myself in a bathtub - never mine, but a bathtub nevertheless. In the bathtub, there is always various colours of hairdye. I then have to go back home, shirt stained with dye. Very fashionable though! 10/10
