L7A1/L7A2, the british General Purpose Machine gun (GPMG) affectionately named the "Gimpy" is the principle machine gun of the british army. Firing the 7.62 X 51mm NATO cartirdge at a rate of fire of 750 RPM, the weapon has a range of 800 M in the light role (used on a bipod) and 1800 M in sustained fire role (fitted to a tripod). It has a muzzle velocity of 838 M/S. It is 1.23 M long in the light role and weighs 13.85 KG when loaded with a 50 round desintigating belt.
