Due to the presence of dribbling, individual creativity and a general emphasis on skilful play and not brainless muscle, as found in international sports like Football(soccer), Rugby, Hockey etc. Basketball has spread around the world and is truly loved everywhere, even though it may not have supplanted the afore-mentioned sports. These attributes, however, are what alienate brainless, know-nothing, ADD-wracked Americans who claim to be sports fans, making it only third in popularity in America, behind American Fatball and Boreball.
