Fla-JJ

Fla-JJ, FlaJJ, or Flajayjay (pronounced "Fla - Jay - Jay"), is a new age slang term describing the act of one smoking the chemical compounds or huffing the burning chemical fumes of old "floppy" disks. Floppy disk drives (FDD) were in heavy use as a magnetic computer storage medium from the 1970s to the earlier 1990s. The earlier 8-inch or 5 1/4-inch floppy disk drives (called floppy because of their flexible nature) contained chemical compounds from their earlier manufacturing standards that when crushed, melted, and smoked can be used to feel a sense of eurphoira or to "get high." Compounds include magnesium, a small amount of mercury, triglycerides, chloroform as well as other unsubstantiated compound claims such as trace amounts of THC. Some users have even described auditory or visual hallucinations when tripping on "Fla-JJ." No known deaths have been reported at his time and the physical consequences (if any) of inhalation/smoking are unknown. Although the substance discovery, inhalation, & term usage is believed to have started in the Mid-Western United States around the mid to late 2000s, current reports put the practice of being high on "Fla-JJ" or "Fla-Jaying" as reaching parts of Europe (specifically Amsterdam and Denmark), Asia, and some parts of South Africa.
