Gabilliam Mug

Gabilliam is a bandslash(Male/Male with band members) pairing consisting of Gabe Saporta(Lead singer for Cobra Starship, wears baseball caps and colourful sunglasses and jeans and sneakers) and William Beckett(lead singer from The Academy Is..., kind of unbelievably beautiful and has legs that are gifts from the gods) Fan-fictions for them can often be found on live-journal, and there is even a community called Gabilliam devoted to the pairing. It's based on the fact that they are utterly adorable together: When William comes out to sing his part in Snakes On a Plane, Gabe will often scream "Give it up for my boy William Beckett!" and "WILL!" right before the chorus, saying William's his best friend, sharing microphones when they both already have them, being huge dorks together, ass-smacking, holding up signs that say "I love Gabe"(William) and "I love William"(Gabe), making finger-hearts, stealing each other's stuff, there are about a million pictures of them hugging(there are some super sweet and cute ones♥), they do arms around shoulders, cheek-kisses, and even as far as Gabe eating chocolate out of William's belly-button and them kissing. You'll almost never see a video where William comes to perform S.O.A.P with Cobra where they don't touch at some point, whether in a casual way, a suggestive way, or just to let Gabe know he's leaving. William has known Gabe pretty much since he graduated from high school, and he even saw Gabe's old band Midtown, met Gabe, and TAI... started supporting Midtown on their tours. I'm going to break down some unfair thoughts on them: often in fics, they are portrayed unpleasantly, of even if not, not anything like how they really are. Gabe is often creepy, crazy, mean, evil, psychotic, a cheater, a rapist etc etc, and I really don't know where that comes from, because he's really just a big sweet dork who loves putting on a show, does what he feels, takes nothing seriously and absolutely loves his friends and his fans. I have never heard of him being anything but funny and friendly towards people. William is often portrayed as being a slut, when he actually has far stronger boundaries than a lot of people in bandom. There are only a handful of people he's ever seen touching, but because he's SO comfortable with those few people, he has a reputation I don't think is deserved. (the most notable person he's often seen with besides Gabe is Travis McCoy, who he's also often paired with, though I really can't see that as being true like I can with Gabilliam) William's said it himself, he doesn't have a lot of really close friends he trusts, and Gabe is one of the closest. William also, in high contrast to Gabe, takes almost everything way TOO seriously, from his music to random games of 20 questions. Gabe helps him lighten up, and there are almost NO pictures or videos where they're together where Gabe isn't making William smile at some point. What do they think of it? I have yet to see William talk about it, but Gabe? Gabe seems to ship the pairing himself. When interviewing fans in a line, he saw a girl with a Treckett(Travis/William) shirt and, finding out what it meant, asked, "Now my question is, where do I fall into that? ‘Cause I don’t see a Greckett, or a Treckgabe..." There's a track in Cobra's first cd called "It's Warmer in the Basement," which is where the common joke of "Gabe's basement" comes from in fandom, and maybe why some people wrongly think he's creepy. Anyway, Gabe: "This song is about loving a girl so much you want to keep her tied up in the basement and not share her with the rest of the world. Sometimes I keep William Beckett locked up in the basement for a while. So no one else would see him. I want him all to myself. Little snuggle buddy." Ryland: "That’s where they wrote the song. It used to be called Lovers In A Basement, but they changed it to Snakes On A Plane." Yea, pretty much. Also, after making the S.O.A.P. video, Gabe posted the following blog: "June 09 2006 | 4:59 am ask, and ye shall receive. new journal entry: where am i ? and how did i get here? i am in la, sitting in william's hotel room and crashing on his couch. ive got some explaining to do: i came out here on monday to shoot a video on tuesday with william and travis for snakes on a plane (more on that in a miinute). i was supposed to leave tonight, but the academy are shooting their video tomorrow so i decided to stay one more day. but i kinda got kicked out of the hotel, so i had to sneak into william's room for the last night. ok, that's a lie. the truth is i ate all the pringles from the minibar and didnt have the cash to pay for it, so they wouldnt let me stay an extra night. ok, that's also a lie. the truth is the hotel was sold out. fine, another lie. if you really want to know the truth, i just want to snuggle next to william. what!? it's not gay if you don't cum." Snuggling with William isn't too rare, really. In a video where Gabe, Alex and Ryland are answering fan questions, somebody asks how Gabe feels about the rumors involving him and William. There's a lot of body language to look out for if you find this video. Alex and Ryland(who are reading the question) exchange a look and elbow each other when they finish, and Gabe goes "I'm... confused by the question." Ryland reads it off again, but says it quickly and quietly with a weird look on his face and goes "I don't know." Gabe does some disbelieving wave with his hands and goes "...It's not a rumor. It's true.(Ryland goes "yea.") I don't get what the big fuss is about, it's not a rumor." and shakes his head a little. Now, most people are going to say they were kidding, but I don't believe that Gabe is capable of being THAT serious about ANYTHING that isn't true, and Ryland, too. You can tell if they're kidding. At the VMAs, Gabe interviewed William and near the end, William says, "I like playing Same Blood because you like Same Blood, so I play it and I think of you every time." which is really just adorable. THEY'RE adorable, together. I'm going to be amazed if you actually read this far, I really wanted to show WHY it's an awesome pairing. I really do not know why this pairing doesn't get more love, with all the canon it has. Honestly, I'd be thrilled if they really were dating, not many people would be surprised and I know lots of other friends of mine who would be happy too, cause they're just that cute. Pretty much all the things I mentioned are things I really saw, and if you want to find the videos and pictures, they really aren't too hard to find, so go crazy, kiddies.
