LIZ: LIZ or "Low Information Zone" refers to the distance or set of circumstances at which UFOs are recorded when the resulting eyewitness account, image or video contains insufficient information to identify them, even as non-human craft. Historically, UFOs have stayed at just the right distance so that they can't be identified. Hence, in photos or videos they appear as fuzzy blobs or points of light. Even more curiously this distance seems to vary by if the viewer has a camera, and then by the quality of the zoom lens on that camera. With better cameras and better lighting conditions, the UFOs get further away. The ability of UFOs to stay in the LIZ has led many to conclude that UFOs are mostly, or entirely, identifiable object like planes, birds, and balloons, and that the reason that UFOs are all in the LIZ is because if they were closer, or had better lighting or focus, then they would be identified and not be UFOs. The term was coined by UFO skeptic Mick West, in September 2019.

gumshoe: An old slang term for a detective or investigator (police-affiliated or private). Variants include "dick" or "private dick," the connotations of which were not meant to be obscene. Shoes in the late 1800s were made of gum rubber - the soft-soled precursors of the modern sneaker. The phrase "to gumshoe" meant to sneak around quietly as if wearing gumshoes. "Gumshoe man" was originally slang for "thief," but by about 1908 the term "gumshoe" was used to refer to a police detective, and the term has stuck ever since (pun intended).

wazzock: Popularised by Tony Capstick (in "Capstick Comes Home") in 1981 and used since as a minor insult (similar to how "idiot" is used as an insult). Originally meant "bull's penis" (originally described to me as "bull's prick"). See also "wazz" for another derivative of this sense of the word. Whether it was ever applied to other animals or humans I don't know - but as "wazz" is used for human urination in the West and North of England, I'd imagine so. Was fairly rare in Yorkshire before Capstick's popularisation of it in 1981.

Butt Rock: A style of hard rock & heavy metal music that is watered down both musically and lyrically to garner maximum radio play and mainstream acceptance. Lyrical themes are drawn from a put-on “tough guy / bro” persona, and include being a badass, getting lots of pussy, strippers, partying, and being betrayed or alone. Image wise, butt rock bands typically consist of guys in their mid-30s with spiky hair, Affliction t-shirts, and bad tattoos (usually barbed wire or tribal). The typical fan emulates this fashion style and exhibits what they think are “manly” personality traits, such as frequently drinking energy drinks, driving an unnecessarily large truck, and otherwise overcompensating for an insecurity in their masculinity. They also tend to have a superficial knowledge of metal music, being familiar only with bands that receive regular radio rotation. Examples of butt rock bands include Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry, Nickelback, Disturbed, and Three Doors Down.
