It's an incredibly wholesome ship that plays on the best friends to lovers trope, which generally features them having a bond where they don't actually need to talk to get what the other is thinking and needing each other through each chapter in their lives. Everyone comes in "pairs" in Free!, and Makoto and Haru are the best example of this. Their character songs are released the same day as each other, Makoto has multiple songs singing about Haru, they have multiple duets, and they are often see next to each other or looking at one another in official art. There's countless scenes just featuring the relationship between the two. Nagisa, their other friend within the swim club, has hinted a couple of times of there being something more between them as well. Makoharu canon, whether KyoAni decides to be brave about it or not.

Good stuff! Although, I do have a sneaking suspicion that this is cursed. You see, whenever i dawn this top-teir, soft, stylish shirt - I proceed to pass out within 46 seconds. The mere act of making contact with the material insues the process of this countdown starting. If I do not quit contact, i will lose conciousness the exact moment the countown hits 0. And when I regain clarity, I find myself in a bathtub - never mine, but a bathtub nevertheless. In the bathtub, there is always various colours of hairdye. I then have to go back home, shirt stained with dye. Very fashionable though! 10/10
