NCT (엔시티) is a South Korean boy group formed by SM Entertainment.Their name stands for the Hallyu localization project Neo Culture Technology, a term coined by SM founder Lee Soo-man to describe the group's concept of having an unlimited number of members divided into multiple sub-units based in various cities worldwide. As of now January 2019, the group consists of 21 members: Taeil Johnny Taeyong Yuta Kun Doyoung Ten Jaehyun Winwin Jungwoo Lucas Mark Xiaojun Hendery Renjun Jeno Haechan Jaemin Chenle Jisung Yangyang SUB - UNITS NCT U (NCT UNITED) - debuted on April 9, 2016 wih the song Without You and The 7th Sense Members: Taeyong Doyoung Jaehyun Winwin Jungwoo Lucas Mark Taeil Ten Kun NCT 127 - is based in Seoul and made their debut on July 7, 2016 with the mini album NCT #127 Members: Taeil Johnny Taeyong Doyoung Yuta Jaehyun Winwin Jungwoo Mark Haechan NCT DREAM - this sub unit follows a admission-graduation system wherein they graduate after reaching the age of 20, debuted on August 25, 2016 with the single Chewing Gum. Members: Mark Renjun Jeno Haechan Jaemin Chenle Jisung (Mark graduated from the group om December 31, 2018) WayV - is a China based sub unit and is set to debut in January 2019 Members: Kun Ten Winwin Lucas Xiaojun Hendery Yangyang
