In his free time, Mario and his friends often play sports such as tennis, golf, and soccer, and have even competed in the Olympics against another popular video game character, Sonic The Hedgehog. His games have spawned several other series of games (Donkey Kong Country, the Yoshi games, etc.) that have also done well. He is known across the world, and most Mario games sell very well.
