Methamphetamine, many places "crank" only refers to what is known as "peanut butter crank" which is a product that is pretty much no longer around as the availability of the substances used to make it are more heavily regulated than they used to be, often used to contrast it from the currently available (and widespread) crystalized methamphetamine. In many places, such as Contra Costa County, California it is used to refer to what is elsewhere known exclusively as "crystal meth" often as the term that is used by the rougher more criminal lifestyle crowd while the lighter more "party" crowd will refer to it as "crys" or "meth." In such places to contrast the old product with the current one the whole term "PeanutButter crank" would have to be used. 4. Combination of "cry" and "wank." Someone in a sad state (likely after a break up) to where they are horny while feeling like they are down on their luck enough to where they would cry. Likely more of an activity that will be referenced to more than it ever actually happens.

This cute mug reminded me of a quote from an obscure biography I found quite by accident in a tiny hole-in-the-wall 2nd hand shop in Portland, ME in 1987: 'The Life and Times of Lazarus of Bethany'.
