garage sailing: The pasttime of attending garage sales in pursuit of other peoples junk that may or may not be cool.

friendship: Something that is much underrated in our society. Friendship is actually a form of love (here I'm not talking exclusively about erotic love). It's not a lesser form of love than erotic love, only a different form of love. In fact, the ancient Greeks had a word, "phileos", more or less equating to fraternal/brotherly love (friendship). Friendship seems to have no observable biological necessity(unlike parental love, necessary for humans to grow, and erotic love, necessary for humans to reproduce), and not much of a marketable appeal (as opposed to the millions/billions of dollars worth of things sold to people trying to better their marriages or parenting skills), yet without such a form of love as friendship our societies would be unbearably dull and alienated from one another. One can love their friends as well as their "significant other", just not in the same way (the difference here is quality, not necessarily quantity).

Hooman: A mispelled word for human, mostly used when a cat "complains" to its human owner, or doing unusual stuffs

Doorknocker: Big hoop earrings, often with the wearer's name in script across the horizontal diameter. It's not uncommon to rock a matching name chain.

86: To remove, end usage, or take something out or away. Despite ALL other posts suggestion the origion of this phrase there is only one true answer: Chumley's, a famous and OLD New York speakeasy, is located at 86 Bedford St. During Prohibition, an enterance through an interior adjoing courtyard was used, as it provided privacy and discretion for customers. As was (and is) a New York tradition, the cops were on the payroll of the bar and would give a ring to the bar that they were coming for a raid. The bartender would then give the command "86 everybody!", which meant that everyone should hightail it out the 86 Bedford enterance because the cops were coming in through the courtyard door.

crotch fruit: An obscenely obnoxious young child who can't seem to behave in any place, at any time. Typically has clueless progenitors who are too busy getting drunk and socializing to watch their children. The bane of waitstaff and service personnel everywhere.

soon™: Describes something that we are told is coming soon (game updates, TV shows, etc.) but we have heard it enough times to know better. Whoever is saying x event will occur soon is considered to own the trademark on the word because they have used it so many times. See soon (tm)

Perchance: 1. A replacement for words like "perhaps" "maybe" or "possibly" 2. A meme relating to a mid-term philosophy essay paper titled "Mario, the Idea vs. Mario, the Man" featuring iconic phrases such as "Everyone knows Mario is cool as fuck (horrible opening)" "And why do we think of him as fondly as we think of the mythical (nonexistent?) Dr Pepper? (???)" "When Mario leaves his place of safety to stomp a turty, he knows that he may Die. (Ok?)" and "The lifekind. (What) Perchance."

conundumb: question/s with obvious answers that stupid people just don’t get

Gift Grab: Invited to a birthday party, wedding, baby or bridal shower by someone rarely see or talk to just to bring a gift. Invite is usually by mass email. Not really friends with the person.

power clashing: Combining clothing items that according to style etiquette do not go together. Doing this as a powerful figure will result in people unquestionably approving your fashion sense, and taking you in higher esteem.

bonk: Expression used by cyclists to describe excercise induced low blood sugar levels; being a feeling of light-headedness and weakness in all limbs. Similar to 'The Wall' in running. Has fallen out of usage in recent years due to alternative meanings.

Possip: Verb. A word mash-up between "positive" and "gossip." The act of speaking positively about and/or building people up people behind their back, without their consent or awareness.

Townie: In America, a townie is a person who has lived in a small town for his or her entire life. Often proud of that fact, townies take great interest in every detail of change in their home turf. Notable characteristics include: making fun of places they've never been (and probably will never go), remembering what used to be where that new building is, and getting fat after high school.

WAG: Wives and girlfriends. usually seen in celebrity magazines about footballers parters.

loss leader: An item that a retail stores sells at a loss in order to get people in the doors to buy other normally priced items.

put the dogs away: when someone (usually a millennial) posts a pic/vidéo on social media, and their bare feet appear on it.

solemn low five: The act of quietly and calmly low fiving others when a location or event does not permit for a loud and/or enthusiastic high five (e.g., a funeral, a library, church, class).

Haint: Southern colloquialism def., ghost, apparition, lost soul

shovelware: 1. Software that is hastily made, without proper testing, and 'shoveled' down consumers throats in order to make some quick cash. 2. Software that is preloaded onto a computer, that does nothing but slow down performance and does nothing beneficial, but is added in order to increase price or add appeal into purchasing a computer.

Tin Soldier: A Soldier without a metaphorical Heart; a goon. Origins in the Wizard of Oz character of the same name tied with the reality of the shooting of unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard during the Kent State shootings; Coined in this alloy by Neil Young in the song 'Ohio:'

oil check: When one wrestler stick his finger(s) in his opponents butt to gain a positional advantage.

Nurse: A Term coined by Drag Queen Willam Belli. Nurse is used as a term for someone who needs help. Can also be used as shade just by saying NURSE!

stashback: A stashback is something discreetly placed behind another object, keeping it out of sight and mind, often used for storage or concealing items. It’s a clever way to maintain tidiness and privacy.

second screening: The opening of a second screen for distraction and/or entertainment purposes (e.g. emails, Instagram, Facebook) while attending a video meeting on a separate screen via Zoom, FaceTime, etc.

Special Interest: Some autistic people have a very strong and passionate interest in something that can last for several years, known as a Special Interest or SPIN for short.

Takeseller: An online media figure engaging in political discourse with the explicit or implicit purpose of directing their audience to their own or some aligned value-extracting media project in the form of a podcast, substack, publication or the like
