#yerk
A collective label who frequently participates in criminally reckless and illicit activities, covering up incriminating material as “props” or “entertainment”. It is exclusively used by a group of individuals in the Cayman Islands when posting pictures of alcohol, drugs, reckless driving, or unregistered firearms. Individuals associated may also use the term to post something miscellaneous, or just to show appreciation to their friends. The term #yerk is not just slang it’s a badge of affiliation. It signifies involvement, access, and complicity. Outsiders may mimic the term, but only select individuals recognized by the inner circle are permitted to use the tag and actually be #yerk.
