vibe check protocol
A systematic framework proposed in paper "The Vibe-Check Protocol: Quantifying Cognitive Offloading in AI Programming" which is used to figure out if someone actually knows how to software engineer, or if they are just suffering from an "illusion of competence" after making an AI agent do all the heavy lifting. It evaluates the real educational impact of "vibe coding" (using natural language to tell AI to write code) to see if you are actually mastering the concepts or just engaging in "cognitive offloading". The protocol mathematically checks three things to expose you: 1. Cold Start Refactor: How fast your coding skills decay when the AI is taken away. 2. Hallucination Trap Detection: Whether you can actually catch sneaky, hidden errors in AI-generated code or if you just blindly accept them. 3. Explainability Gap: The massive disconnect between the super complex code you just generated and your total inability to explain how it actually works.
