A fan of the 2008 Broadway musical "title of show." "title of show" -- with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell -- documents the creation of a musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical. The show developed a following of rabid fans who shortened the name of the production to the abbreviation "tos." They then called themselves "tossers." If they were aware of the other meaning of the word is unclear.
