Ifølge fortællingerne blev han kendt for sine syleskarpe kommentarer, sit evige halvfornærmede tonefald og sin evne til at være både sur og dobbeltmoralsk på samme tid. Det var netop hans ikoniske opførsel, der siges at have givet oprindelsen til slangordet “Timsk”.
