Terd

A portmanteau of the words "Train" and "Nerd". It is a term used to describe certain individuals who derive an identity for themselves around trains and train-related activities. While the term Foamer is used by those within the community to describe a train enthusiast who figuratively "foams at the mouth" when discussing or engaging in train-related activities, Terd is used by individuals outside of the train enthusiast community to describe those within it in a condescending manner. Usually with a tone of disgust. Persons who might use the word would generally have no idea what the subject is talking about, nor would ever want to because trains are stupid.
