Basically you are protecting your body. There are people who are straight edge, know what it means and sticks with it. They are known as the true straight edge. Others do it just to fit in and be cool. They tell everyone their straight edge and don't stick to the rules. Idiots. Lots of straight edge people also draw X's on their hands.
