A souper is a community activist, specializing in feeding and caring for the impoverished demographic of their city. They mainly focus on serving soup in cold winter weather. The term is derived from the group “Free Hot Soup”, a grassroots group of people who serve meals, including hot soup, at public parks in urban areas under the guise of a community picnic/potluck, without the help of religious or political organizations. They mainly operate and organize through social media.
