Snipes were commonly referred to as throw aways or butts of cigarettes, they have now become a term for any cigar, cigarette or smoke related product such as blunts or joint. The term snipe refers to the danger of the product, like a sniper it will kill you. The guys I hear talking, often refer to snipes when saying they are going to a smoke break. Regardless, they still use the term, "Snipes" when referring to marijuana joints or "blunts" and any cigar like, black and mild like cigarette.
