SayWhat?! is a Music Producer/MC/Spoken Word & Written Poet. SayWhat?! Biography --------------------- Born and Raised in Washington Heights, New York Saywhat?! of Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican descent. Began writing poetry at the young age of 8. Then at the age of 10 he melded his poetic style into a hip-hop format because of his exposure and long time interest of hip hops freshness. This melding gave Saywhat?! a new outlet to express himself. He now fuses leveled spoken word content into the head boppin' energy of hip-hop. Hoping to spread a deeper message sandwiched with hot Beats and flows that wont quit. SayWhat?! Touches on topics such as the workings of the mainstream industry. Exposing the Social ills of the ghetto, and The Effects of Media. Using wordplay and analogies in an attempt to delve deep into the psyche that is the human of today through a Melodic medium, utilizing the rap art form to deliver a wake up call to society. SayWhat?! poses questions and theories that many times never cross our minds and open doors for us to analyze and really observe the world around us revealing a new array of questions on why things are a certain way and why we think the way we do. Because as Saywhat?! states "when you understand how and why things work, you then have the capability to dissect and rebuild it into a more efficient form. Thusly attaining the ability to innovate and advance, a priceless utility." Now Understanding the Message and content he is meant to spread, he began work on crystallizing his LP. SayWhat?! sought producers to finalize an album, but unsatisfied with the music production he had come across, He decided to look to the phrase "if others can't do the work then do it yourself". So in 1994 with no previous musical education, Saywhat?! began experimenting with music production methods. Using 2 tape decks and free computer software. Slowly he attained access to more productive and advanced music programs and learned his way around the piano.10 years later Self-taught in Music Production. Saywhat?! now composes many musical genres including : alternative, R&B, trip-hop, classical, orchestral/cinematic, hip-hop and more. Regardless of the economic hardships he went through being raised in NYC, SayWhat?! has taken the road less traveled. And continues to pursue his vision and hopes to inspire others to tap into their "infinite Potential" and go for their dreams no matter what the odds. With the examples of the achievements he has made thus far, and will continue to reach in the future.
