The cost of a brand new pit bike will vary from where you buy, what make, the honda Crf50 can be seen retailing at around £700-800 which in some peoples eyes is too expensive for such a small bike. As normal, there is a cheaper market, these days you can hop onto ebay and buy a 200 pit bike, but as most of us has experienced at least once in our lives, you get what you pay for.
