People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The butt of many jokes and the end of many propagandized statements. They do not kill every animal they have in their posession. Their mission statement, " People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), with more than 2.0 million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry." Basically, it says that animals are not ours to exploit in any way. So, no, members of Peta do not try to shove their way of life down your throat. Most members are vegetarians/vegans. They have had many undercover investigations that have been successful in educating the public, and exposing many animal abusers. So, STOP RAGGING ON THEM.
