Metroid Dread
This game used to be cancelled, wayyyy back in 2008, now its uncancelled in 2021, and won best Action-Adventure game at The Game Awards, and while TGA are rater controversial, its widely regarded by the Metroid Fanbase as the best in the series (especially after the rocky 2010s for Metroid), and is the bestselling Metroid to date. Its also the game with the third longest development cycle, only beaten by Duke Nukem Forever and Clockwork Aquario. To summarize, it shouldn't have been this good, but it is.
