There are many cities and towns in Johnson County ranging from big ones like Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, Lenexa and Shawnee Mission to small towns like De Soto, Gardner, Spring Hill, Mission Hills and Prairie Village. Johnson County takes up 480 square miles. It was founded on August 25, 1855. It was named after Thomas Johnson.
