when a community made by and for a specific group starts to persecute anyone, even those in the community, that doesn't agree with them 100%. originates from the French revolution after which the Jacobin group who usurped the king started to execute their own members who weren't 100% loyal to the revolution which eventually lead to a counter revolution.
