German

It is descended from high german, and is the ancestor of the English language, the language of commerce. it is unique in that, in addition to the 26 standard letters, german has three additional vowels and the Eszett, which is a variation of "s". With over 100 million speakers, german is the most common language in Europe, and one of the most spoken languages on Earth.
