Engineering accomplished, usually incorrectly, by walking in the vicinity of a project, and attempting to point out how it could be better or how it is wrong. The drive by engineer is usually in a position of authority and has failed to consider all of the relevant facts before making his or her incorrect claims. The victim of the drive by engineering is then forced to spend several hours justifying the design to the superior.
