Darien

Darien, Connecticut is a town that no one (not even its own residents) understand. Other people who have wrote the definition for Darien seem to either say that it is a great rich town where kids have fun (which is true for the rich residents) and others have said that its a good alternative to greenwich or new canaan because of lower-costing homes (which many darien residents dont even know exist; i.e. the Avalon housing). In reality, like any town in suburban America, Darien has a huge range of incomes per households, and the notion that everyone in Darien is rich is just a facade that the town tries to preserve; it sounds much nicer to say your from a rich town that has teenagers that do alot of drugs and drink alot, than saying that there are also real drug addicts, alcoholics. Also, I'd like to mention that these kids dont necessarily all steal the money from their parents to get those "items"; they sell drugs to the rich kids in their own school and make a killing! Norwalk and Stamford are scary to Darieners, but the only reason they should ever have to be afraid of going into those two, financially normal towns/cities, are when they have to go on a beer run or to go get ripped off by a street weed/crack/coke/whatever dealer on the streets in the hot spots of those two towns. If a Dariener were to, for example, have a job in stamford or norwalk, there is just as much a chance of an incident happening as any town that isnt famous for being rich (*cough* darien). Oh, and in Darien, every parent that has a kid in high school, well, their kid doesnt drink or smoke or do drugs. And that goes to every parent, so when they find out that their kid DOES do drugs, they blame it on the bastard that sold the shit to their kid!! Oh, and last but not least, Darien also has people like me; people who dont fit the mold in this town. In fact, I'd say there about as many Darieners like me as there are that are like the Darienites that I have described in the first half of this definition.
