Someone who eats meat, dairy and eggs, but tries to avoid them if they suspect that the animals were raised (or slaughtered) in a cruel manner. Such a person typically eats meat for nutrition rather than pleasure. Understanding the reality of supply and demand, they may also avoid buying factory-farmed meat for others, including superfluous pets. When they eat food in general, they may think about how much resources and suffering went into making it. A compassiotarian who only eats halal meat is a Rahmatarian.
