Bomma
The moniker adopted children give to their biological mothers. Bommy is a portmanteau word derived from a combination of "Birth" and "Mommy". Although Bomma is the original spelling, the variations "Bom", "Bomb" or "Bommy" are interchangeable alternatives. Children who were adopted refer to their adopted mother as Mom, Momma, or Mommy. Bomma, Bom, or Bommy are used to express love, gratitude, and appreciation for the woman who birthed them, reserving Momma, Mom, or Mommy for the woman who raised them.
