There has been many criticisms of the album because of the drum snare which to quote Brent DiCrescenzo "playing a drum set consisting of steel drums, aluminum toms, programmed double kicks, and a broken church bell". Therefore there has been many jokes in the Metallica community about this album's drum kit being made out of tin cans.

This was sent as a gift to my grandson, who lives in another state, so I never saw it. However I asked him as follows: "Just checking ... their request for a review shows an aquamarine mug ... it was supposed to be purple (eggplant, they called it). Was it purple?" Then he said: "It was purple! And thank you I love it haha Sent from my iPhone"
