A portmanteau of “Shatner” and “texting”: When you send or receive a long text message to or from someone in multiple small messages instead of one long one, thereby blowing up your phone. Essentially they are texting you the same way William Shatner speaks, a few words with breaks in between: “Mr........Spock, I.......can’t....go on with this.......charade any longer! Scotty, I.......need full power now! Sulu.....go to maximum warp, we’re going to......intercept the Klingons and.......rescue Uhura!”
