Serotonin, also known as the "feel good hormone" is a neurotransmitter known for boosting your mood. Not only does it help boost your mood, but it also plays a role in maintaining good digestive health. In fact 90% of serotonin is produced in the intestines and the blood platelets. To boost your serotonin levels, eat foods like chicken, cheese, beans and bananas. Also get enough carbohydrates. You may want to sit out in the sun as Vitamin D helps maintain a sufficient quantity of serotonin levels.
