He is called “Scalito” because of his similarity to the ultra-conservative Justice Antonin Scalia. 2. Scalitos, test marketed by Taco Bell in 1997, were miniature chicken tacos flavored with zesty Baja pepper sauce. The fast food chain ran commercials on Los Angeles media urging their target demographic to “slam a scalito!”
