sapphic swirl
A trope where Sapphic (wlw/nblw) relationships in media consist of a white person and a person of colour (usually a Black person.) The trope is disliked because the (white) creators need/try to be as close to whiteness as possible, whether it be main characters is mixed with white or a relationship always have to include a white. In these ships if the person of colour is Black, they are usually mixed with white and/or lightskin and/or have a looser hair texture (2a-3c). Examples: Lumity (The owl house), Catradora (SheRa), Deena and Sam (Fear Street), Rules (Euphoria), Lily and Ola (Sex Education), Sydney and Sofia (IANOWT).
