Paedophile drum (AKA: lion's roar/fart machine/groan drum/sweaty-arse machine) The Paedophile drum consists of an upside-down floor tom with a string attatched to the bottom skin of the drum. The other end of the drum is open. To make a sound, a piece of leather is pulled up against the string so it vibrates and makes an unusual sound. NB: It may be hard to make a sound if the string is not lubricated first (e.g with rosin, wax, vaseline..) It can be heard in certain pieces for percussion group and often in orchestral music by the modern composer Varese.
