Ottsel
Small (usually about two 2 feet in height), fuzzy creatures that appear to be a hybrid of an otter and weasel. Their primary fur coloring is a bright and sprightly orange with bright yellow fur running from the around their eyes down the front of their torso and to the tip of their tail; the yellow coloring also tips the toes of their feet, palms, and usually in two-three (2-3) stripes on the lower arms. The first known ottsel - although not by choice - used to be a boy named Daxter. After being knocked into a large vat of Dark Eco (a rather hated substance in his world) by his best friend Jak, instead of being killed, he was transformed into the tiny creature. However, their journey to change him back is a story you will have to find out for yourself. Later on in the series (the third 3rd in the triology), the duo meets up with more ottsels at the core of their planet, and find out that the ottsels are, infact, the ancient Precursors who built planets long ago (Precursors being the godly light-dieties in the game series). Of course, this didn't go over well with some of the game's fans, and so many have lost faith in the Jak and Daxter series. The the original concept and word "ottsel" was founded by the video game company of Naughty Dog in the very late 1990s; the term was first used on the back of the game cover for "Jak and Daxter: Precursor Legacy."
