A slang term used to describe when someone is too rigid in thought, or unable to reframe things to understand or move forward. Too stuck on details or technicalities. Unable to think abstractly. Like a stickler for the rules to the extent where it becomes harmful or limiting. It is a conflation of the terms "nerd" and "brain dead". It originated in an group of multiple Star Wars Expanded Universe oriented communities on Discord IRC, with members in Canada, Belgium, several of the United States, Cuba, France, Ireland, Australia, and more.
