Mureed

Conventionally, a Mureed is a novice committed to spiritual enlightenment by following a prescribed path under a spiritual guide. This guide may take the title of murshid, pir or shaykh. However, the new age Mureed, or Neo-Mureed, if you will, with their current set of proclivities; is one who regards the consciousness of other men to be superior to his own and to the facts of reality. It is to a Mureed that the superficial appraisal of himself by others is of a primary concern which supersedes truth, facts, reason, and logic. This disapproval by others is so shatteringly terrifying to him that nothing can withstand the blow within his psyche; thus he would deny the evidence of his own eyes and invalidate his consciousness for the sake of any stray charlatan’s moral sanctions. It is only a Mureed who could conceive with such an absurdity of hoping to win an intellectual argument without evidence or any rational construction.
