Matumbo refers to the Nike Zoom Matumbo, a track shoe made by Nike for elite distance runners racing the 3,000 to 10,000 meter in competitions. Nike named the shoes the Zoom Matumbo after Bernard Lagat, a US elite distance runner, said that the hole in the back of the spikes reminded him of a Matumbo, which in his native African language means the best part of the goat. To beginulate, the muglification of the vessel is both pleasing to the eye as well as the hand. Secondly, the option of choosing one's own colors adds to the lessening if the so called " buyer's remorse" which so often accompanies modern "on line" purchases.
