Hoochie Coochie Dancer
The Hoochie Coochie was a sexually provocative dance that originated at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876. It became more widely popular in 1893 during the Chicago World's Fair. The term "Hoochie-Coochie Girls" was utilized by Carnival Barkers to describe scantily clad female dancers performing in side shows. The term was used up to the early 60's. Many older people still use the term to describe modern day strippers.
