FYP
A 'For You Page' is the feed of the app TikTok that uses an aggregate of user data to algorithmically create a selection of videos to watch. The FYP is catered to each individual person based on their watching habits, and videos they have liked, saved, or flagged as 'not interested' in, as well as other information TikTok collects, including what other similar people's reaction to the video was. A TikTok video may be placed on more and more 'For You Pages' as it gains traction or interest, resulting in the key reason for the fame of TikTok, that anyone can seemingly become famous. In reality, it spreads views across a wider spectrum of users, adding to the general appeal of the app. There was a common sentiment that tagging a video "#fyp" or other derivatives would give that video a higher chance of becoming viral, however, TikTok has never confirmed whether this is true, and it has seen mixed-use and success.

This cute mug reminded me of a quote from an obscure biography I found quite by accident in a tiny hole-in-the-wall 2nd hand shop in Portland, ME in 1987: 'The Life and Times of Lazarus of Bethany'. What's funny is the saying that everyone searched for is the one that popped up on the cup. So all the weird gross sayings that people are commenting on are completely out of context to everyone seeing their comment.
