Farinelli, whose real name was Carlo Broschi. He was born in Naples, Italy January 24, 1705 and died July 15, 1782 in Bologna. Farinelli was the most famous musical figure in his century, (a Baroque "Rock Star") and is arguably one of the greatest singers ever. His reputation and fame has lasted despite the disappearance of castrato singers and the unique musical style dedicated to them known as "opera seria." A 1994 Film of the same name, about the singer's life. Stefano Dionisi played Farinelli.

This cute mug reminded me of a quote from an obscure biography I found quite by accident in a tiny hole-in-the-wall 2nd hand shop in Portland, ME in 1987: 'The Life and Times of Lazarus of Bethany'. Quote: " We are all walking wounded held together by the scars of our forbearance and the charity of our sisters and brothers." Truer words have never been said.

What's funny is the saying that everyone searched for is the one that popped up on the cup. So all the weird gross sayings that people are commenting on are completely out of context to everyone seeing their comment.
