A genre of music that is slightly hard-core, maybe a small amount of screaming or shouting. Emo is not a type of person that wears dark clothes and dark make-up. Emo is also not a person that self-harms, or whom is depressed. Emo is short for Emo-core which was a joke made by a band in the 1980's, which was then abbreviated to Emo. A girl killed herself and a writer for the Daily Mail said that the music was influential to her death and she was "Emo".
